You are not going to find better option at this low price.You will really are going to enjoy it.
And nowadays I buy a new camera every couple of months, so it's not worth the 200 hundred dollars.I only used it to about 6 or 7 feet deep, did not leak at all. I bought this last minute to take on a trip to Colombia. Otherwise I think it is great.I used it with a Canon SD870IS, I used the provided zoom extender, fits nicely inside the case, also the rubber zoom extender helps keep the camera from moving around inside the bag(read case). Only real drawback is that it is a soft case, will not protect camera from drops or shocks. For the money it performed very well. I usually buy the more expensive camera model specific cases for my cameras but this was last minute and I didn't feel like spending a lot of money.
So while it's fine for snorkeling or swimming, it's probably not a good choice for anything where you'll be going really deep (like scuba).- A bit scary to use, since there's only a thin layer of plastic protecting your camera from destruction.Tips:- Test it in your sink or bathtub using some wadded up paper towel instead of a camera to make sure the case doesn't leak. This wasn't a big deal for me as I rarely switch modes anyway, but you should check the controls on your camera to see which ones may be affected by this issue.- Does not provide any protection against pressure. It might be good to do this at the beginning of any trip just to make sure it hasn't gotten damaged since you last used it.- Also, make sure the lens cap is on good and snug, and that the "zipper" seal is completely engaged before going in the water. I used this on a snorkeling trip in Maui, and was very pleased with the results.Pros:- Does what it's supposed to do: keeps your camera dry under water.- Didn't have a noticeable impact on image quality.- Includes a good wrist strap.Cons:- While the buttons are relatively easy to access, any slider-switch or wheel controls are very hard to use while in the case. For my camera (a Canon SD450) this meant mode switching was tricky.
Before I could get back to the boat, my $300 canon was dead. My advice is to get the real case, or buy a cheap waterproof model. I reviewed this product with an ecstatic 5 stars several months ago. Before you ask, yes I properly sealed it. The only reason not to have one is that they don't do video. It worked great in several swimming pools, on a trip to Hawaii, and through half of our time in Belize. Unfortunately, halfway through a snorkeling trip, I noticed what looked like water in the bag.
It's a little hard to change the camera setting with this on while underwater, but for what it is I would certainly recommend this. Took this with me snorkeling the north shore in Oahu HI. Worked as advertised.
